I think that my wife almost single handedly keeps the Goodwill in Gig Harbor in business. I’m fully in support of that, as she finds amazing deals on kids’ clothes for our daughter. Fortunately for us, Gig Harborites now have a new, super convenient location to drop off goods for the Goodwill. Below is a copy of the release I received.
A new Goodwill attended donation station opened Oct. 1 in Gig Harbor, at 7910 Stinson Ave., the corner of Rosedale Street and Stinson Avenue.
“This new donation station provides greater convenience for our valued Gig Harbor donors,” said Terry A. Hayes, president & CEO of Tacoma Goodwill, which operates the Gig Harbor Goodwill Store. “Donations to Goodwill and shopping at our stores are ways people support our job-training and placement programs that serve thousands of people across the area.”
The donation station is open daily, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Goodwill seeks “gently used” and ready-to-sell clothing and household items, all of which are tax-deductible. Goodwill operates two other donation sites on the Gig Harbor/Key Peninsula including the Goodwill store, 4805 Point Fosdick Drive N.W. and an attended donation station at the Key Peninsula Market/Chevron in Wauna, 9522 State Route 302. For a complete list of donation sites or to check what gently used items Goodwill accepts, go online to www.tacomagoodwill.org and click on “Donate.”
Tacoma Goodwill is part of the national Goodwill Donate Movement, encouraging people to donate clothes to support the agency’s mission, especially in these tough economic times. To calculate the impact even a single donated item can have, go to www.donate.goodwill.org.
